2.4 Authentic Assessment
The
foundation of authentic assessment revolves around evaluating a students’
ability to apply what they have learned in class. Students are asked to quiz or
another test to evaluation at the end of the class or at the end of the topics.
It’s also with midterm and final semester which standardized on the same grade
level for every strands. The evaluation could be in form of a
short item test with 10 to 20 comprehension questions, or by giving an
exit paper with a simple comprehension question in it. In measuring and evaluating students, the teacher adopts three
criteria for grading based on DepEd Order #8, s. 2015.
Those criteria are:
1. written works (30%) which include seatworks, quizzes, and chapter tests,
2. performance tasks (50%) which include recitation and projects, and
3. quarterly assessment (20%).
