The Challenges of Practicum
Meet new people and
new environment is not easy at first. Knowing other cultures and
characteristics also not easy to be adapted. Some challenges from this
practicum was first about the topic for the teaching practice. Since EFL and
ESL lesson would be different it was really challenging when the topic was
assigned. That the ESL topic is more complex then EFL topic in the school which
is on the basic of English language.
Classroom management
also become quite challenging since the students were really enthusiast and
excited, therefore, they were so active and some of them become hyperactive.
From this case, I tried to manage their misbehavior by consulting the problem
to the cooperating teacher, then he suggested me and give solution how to
manage their behavior. Also how to give the appropriate method and strategy in
the learning process to implement the 21st century teaching model
which is students centered.
